Outdoor Skills And Thrills

Hiking Guide & Climbing Assistant

Being born and raised in Thunder Bay, Katherine brings lots of local knowledge to our team especially when it comes to outdoor adventures. She is known for developing WAYfinder Trails and Recreation, a free local hiking app that provides detailed information to help you safely explore our region. Katherine has studied Travel and Tourism, Adventure and Eco-Tourism, Aboriginal Canadian Relations, Natural Resources, and Forestry at Confederation College obtaining two diplomas and a certificate. She is passionate about forest education and loves to identify different plants, trees, and mushrooms while out in nature. In 2012, when studying abroad in South America, Katherine discovered rock climbing for the first time while visiting the Chilean Andes. After traveling to many countries and living in different locations across Canada, Katherine returned home in 2015. Right away she connected with the local climbing community and always looking for opportunities to grow and expand her skillset.

“I’m excited to work together with Aric and show everyone why I love Thunder Bay so much!”” – Katherine Couzelis
