Multi-Pitch Climbing Course

$249.00$274.00

Learn the Skills & Enjoy a Lifetime of Thrills!

Learn the skills that will give you the confidence and freedom to take your climbing experience to the next level! Our multi-pitch climbing course will prepare you with the necessary skills and knowledge to go up and come down multi-pitch climbs safely outdoors. Compared to single pitch climbing, multi-pitch climbing presents many more variables and dangers that a climber and belayer need to be aware of and experienced with to stay safe high off the ground. It is crucial for a climbing team to properly learn and understand what is involved with safely leading, belaying, and rappelling a multi-pitch climb outdoors. This course is ideal for climbers who have experience with single-pitch lead climbing and are looking to make the transition to climbing multi-pitch lines,  or for climbers who seek to refine their existing multi-pitch techniques, skills, and safety knowledge! Although you don’t specifically need any previous climbing training to take this course, you will be at an advantage if you come in to this course already with an understanding of how to lead climb and lead belay on single-pitch sport or trad terrain.

Consider taking one or more of our other courses first if you have no experience yet and want to learn things step by step: Top-Rope Anchors and Rappelling Course (and/or) Sport Lead Climbing And Rappelling Course (and/or) Traditional Climbing Course

In this course you will learn and practice:

  • The differences between single-pitch and multi-pitch climbing
  • The gear involved with multi-pitch climbing
  • Objective hazards and subjective risks in multi-pitch climbing
  • Minimizing the potential dangers by looking at a variety of scenarios
  • Advanced belay techniques and rope management for multi-pitch climbing
  • How to properly create and attach yourself to a multi-pitch anchor
  • Fall factors
  • Protecting for both the leader and the second on multi-pitch climbs
  • Rappelling or lowering from the top of the climb
  • Deciding when/how to bail from a multi-pitch climb
  • Mental techniques for multi-pitch climbing
